SafeStore, Inc. was established in 1996 by an attorney and retired law enforcement. Our mission is to provide Sheriff and Police departments, Government agencies within the criminal justice system; Insurance companies; Litigation services; and private-sector businesses with the necessity to store critical evidence/property in long-term secure storage facility affordably priced.

Our Team’s Expertise

Randy Turtle
CEOAn accomplished lawyer and businesswoman, Ms. Turtle helped pioneer the concept of third-party evidence storage in the mid 90s. As an attorney, Ms. Turtle served the film and television industries, managing labor contracts and researching copyright and other intellectual property matters. Ms. Turtle also managed the B-2-B sales efforts for the largest independent manufacturer of computer-related products in the United States. Today, she brings together both her management skills and legal expertise to assure that SafeStore continues to meet the many demands of its diverse and specialized clients. Ms. Turtle participates with the California State Sheriff’s Association, California Police Chiefs Association, California Association of Property and Evidence, FBI National Academy Associates, and California Association of Crime Lab Directors, among others.

Joe Latta
Property Room Management ExpertJoe Latta has been affiliated with SafeStore since 2002, providing expertise in property management and evidence storage. A retired Lieutenant with the Burbank Police Department, Mr. Latta is Executive Director and Lead Instructor of the IAPE (International Association for Property and Evidence). In the past 20 years, he has instructed Property Room Management classes to more than 15,000 law enforcement personnel. He is also President of Evidence Control Systems, Inc., which provides property room auditing services to law enforcement agencies across the country.

Chad Callaghan
Director of Warehouse OperationsMr. Callaghan has over 30 years of experience in warehouse operations. He has experience in the areas of providing warehousing and distribution services for businesses. He is responsible for inventory management, warehouse operations and security. Mr. Callaghan’s knowledge and expertise of inventory management, facility management, and inspection and building audits, has given him the background and knowledge to effectively develop and manage SafeStore’s warehouse.
Prior to joining SafeStore’s team, Mr. Callaghan has successfully grown and managed his own business where he provides third-party order fulfillment, distribution, and case pick or full pallet handling of products; and including items such as electronics, film, automobile parts and other consumer goods.

Phyllis Dixon
Director Marketing & Business DevelopmentMs. Dixon is a results-driven marketing and business development professional that can deliver entrepreneurial vision with strategic execution within structured and entrepreneurial environments. She’s an innovative and creative problem-solver. Her background includes strategic planning, project management and commercial real estate facilities, asset and property management.

Carly Steinberg
Carly Steinberg is in her fourth year as a philosophy major at UCLA. She joined the SafeStore team in 2017, as the Research/Administrative Assistant. Ms. Steinberg’s exceptional research and organizational skills are a vital part of the SafeStore organization.
